Koasheé (Pronounced as Ko-shay) is a fashion label launched in October 2014 to bring a respite from the unnatural elements through wearable fashion. Combining the age-old expertise with an extraordinary thought, each garment comes together as a masterpiece. Au courant, the collection is a fusion of style and tradition, where Indian prints and western cuts draw a theatrical contrast. After graduating from Parsons the New School for Design New York, Shubhitaa decided to launch her label by first gaining knowledge in the field of hand block printing and dyeing.
Her father, Shailendra Sancheti, runs a fashion house, Vasansi Jaipur, also known as Jaipur Saree Kendra. Since all the processes from greige fabric to the final product were done in house at her father's Factory, she immediately decided to curate western and indo western clothing using modern silhouettes. The designer herself likes to play with colors and new age fabrics as she has seen the design processes since her childhood.
As a designer, I always like to go down the memory lane when I used to pay close attention to the details of blocks and the screens that were made for different sarees, suits and lehengas. Fabric techniques of Bandhej and Leheriya can be seen in almost all the collections with westernised cuts and motifs inspired from Indian and Rajasthani art. We can assure our clients that each time we will bring new patterns and a different color theory with a contemporary twist.
